800G / 1.6T Optical Return Loss Testing

Tx/Rx spectral return-loss testing across four polarization states, from 1260 to 1360 nm, with 16 parallel channels.

Return-loss test architecture

The GM OPTICS reference connects a tunable laser, polarization controller, splitters, optical switch, reference paths and optical power meters to the DUT. The original diagram shows FC/APC connections and an MPO12/16/MMC interface.

Test conditions from the source

  • Tx and Rx spectral return-loss curves across four polarization states.
  • Wavelength range: 1260–1360 nm.
  • Wavelength interval: 100 pm.
  • 16 channels tested in parallel.
